Portwest – Workwear size chart
The table below is Portwest's official size chart for workwear: men's and women's chest, waist and hip measurements, plus the leg length belonging to each height. For example, a chest of 108–112 cm calls for an L jacket or coverall.
How to measure?
- Chest: horizontally around the widest point of the chest, with arms relaxed.
- Waist: at the narrowest point of the waist, at navel height.
- Hips: at the widest point of the hips, with the legs together.
- Leg length: from the crotch to the ankle, without shoes.

For women's trousers the manufacturer offers one version: Regular, for heights of 160–168 cm, with a 74 cm leg length.
Garment sizes follow body measurements, with the ease needed for comfortable movement. The manufacturer warns that sizes may differ from model to model, so it is worth trying them on for a perfect fit. Portwest is currently updating its trouser labelling to the ISO 13688 standard, so older and newer labels may show different EU/FR conversions - the body measurement in centimetres is always decisive.

How to measure your foot length?
- Stand on a sheet of paper wearing the socks you also wear at work.
- Mark the line of the heel and the longest toe, then measure the distance between the two marks in centimetres.
- The two feet can differ in size: always choose the size for the longer foot.
The manufacturer points out that there is no uniform international standard for converting shoe sizes, so measuring the foot itself before buying is the safest approach. It is best to measure in the second half of the day, when the foot is slightly larger due to the day's load; for lined winter models or thick socks, allow extra room.

Portwest – Protective glove size chart
Protective glove sizing follows the palm circumference. With a tape measure, measure around your palm below the thumb, at its widest point - the value in inches gives the numbered size.

The centimetre value is the conversion of the inch size (1 inch = 2.54 cm); the manufacturer publishes the table in inches.
What to look out for when choosing?
- A glove that is too large bunches up in the palm and reduces grip; one that is too tight tires the hand and tears sooner.
- If your measurement falls between two sizes, choose the smaller one for precision work (assembly, electronics) and the larger one for longer wear or lined versions.
- For chemical protection the cuff length is a separate consideration: decide based on the area to be protected, not on hand size.
