Frequently asked purchasing questions
Are ASTUN and NEXION intended for the same use?
No. ASTUN products are energy absorbing lanyards; NEXION is a connecting lanyard without an absorber. NEXION alone is not a fall arrest system. Choose according to the intended use and manufacturer instructions.
Can every retractable fall arrester be used horizontally?
No. EN 360 marking alone does not approve horizontal or over-edge use. The specific manual defines direction of use, edge conditions, anchorage height and required clearance.
Can any 10.5 mm rope be used with a rope device?
No. Use the manufacturer-specified rope and device combination. Diameter and an EN 1891 marking alone do not establish compatibility.
What should a business quote request include?
The task, workplace, available anchorage, number and sizes of users, and types already used in the system. Discuss use, inspection and rescue requirements too.
